Health and Fitness: Information, Resources and LinksHealth and FitnessHealth and fitness are two things that often go together, however, the lack of either health or fitness, can cause the other to decline also, in a process typically called a vicious circle. If your health declines, you normally become less fit. Like wise, if your fitness declines, you often become less healthy. In the most extreme form of this health and fitness vicious cirlce, death can result.
To explain this health and fitness issue further:Being fit and healthy is often misconstrued by many people as a type of bullet proofing. They erroneously believe that if they remain fit through exercise, moderation, diet, supplements and so on, that their health will remain good. This is akin to magical thinking. The fallacy or fitnessIt may be true that fit people are less likely to get ill, but, in the end, everyone dies of something, and everyone's genetics predisposes one to some form of illness. Contagious diseases may find it a little harder to breach the fit and healthy immune system, but sooner or later something will find a way through. Really, it's not that hard. Also, the older you get, the more your immune system deteriorates, become unhealthy, simply beause of age. So, even though you may be remarkably fit and healthy today, tomorrow you may suffer from a heart attack, be diagnosed with cancer, or end up with hemorrhoids. How many fit and healthy people die while jogging? One of our high school teachers for one. Fitness may give a better quality of health and of longevity, but it is no guarantee of either. The fallacy of healthHealth very much depends on how fit one really is. The less fit one is, the more likely you will get ill from all sorts of different illnesses. Also, the less healthy you are, the less likely you are to do activities that involve physical effort - aka exercise of some sort - which then causes you to become even less fit, and even more prone to becoming iller. These illnesses may be things like bacterial infections and viruses, but the ones that lack of fitness are largely identified with, are the metabolic diseases. Metabolic diseases are not caught, they are not contagious, it is what the human body does when it is confronted with a sedentary life style - a life style where being fit from manual labor is replaced by weakness from office work, such as sitting at the computer. Metabolic diseases involve such things as high cholesterol, insulin resistance and the like. Such diseases are potentially deadly if the fitness of the person isn't improved substantially.
Health, Fitness and HemorrhoidsIn case you are wondering, lack of fitness can cause hemorrhoids to worsen or develop, by creating conditions for constipation, such as low muscle tone of the intestinal tract, and so on. Exercise is even important for keeping the food moving through the body, by virtue of the fact that if you move around, your moving and contorting the intestinal tract, which in turns helps move the food along it. People with hemorrhoids, aka hemroids, often reduce their physical activity further, reduce their fitness further, to avoid the pain and discomfort that hemorrhoids cause, but in doing so they are jeopardizing their health further.
Health and Fitness in ConclusionSo fitness is important to keep many metabolic diseases at bay, while keeping your immune system in as good a condition to fight off infections and environmental hazards, so as to remain as healthy as you can.
